Nuno names Morgan Gibbs-White stand-in with double Nottingham Forest change vs Crystal Palace

by · NottinghamshireLive

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Crystal Palace in tonight’s Premier League clash.

The Reds go into this evening’s game looking to register their first home win of the campaign. It has been a positive start to the season for Nuno’s side but they will be keen to end a run of six league games without a victory at the City Ground - a sequence stretching back to April.

However, the Portuguese will not be on the touchline against Palace as he serves the first of a three-match ban. Talisman Morgan Gibbs-White and midfielder James Ward-Prowse are also suspended for the clash.

Gibbs-White would likely have missed the game anyway after he suffered an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw at Chelsea before the international break. Nuno has made two changes to the starting line-up from the stalemate at Stamford Bridge, with Nicolas Dominguez and Anthony Elanga replacing Gibbs-White and Ward-Prowse.

Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Alex Moreno once again make up the back line ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels. Dominguez is likely to partner Ryan Yates in midfield, with Elliot Anderson likely to be the one to replace Gibbs-White in the No.10 role.

Elanga will join Callum Hudson-Odoi either side of Anderson to support front man Chris Wood. The bench will be made up of Carlos Miguel, Morato, Neco Williams, Taiwo Awoniyi, Andrew Omobamidele, Harry Toffolo, Jota Silva, Ramon Sosa and Willy Boly.

Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Dominguez; Elanga, Anderson, Hudson-Odoi; Wood. Subs: Miguel, Morato, Williams, Awoniyi, Omobamidele, Toffolo, Jota, Sosa, Boly.
