Kashmir's Gulmarg, Razdan Pass receive season's first snowfall; rains affect plains - Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 06: On Sunday, higher reaches in Kashmir including the famous ski resort of Gulmarg received light snowfall while rains affected plains.

On Saturday night, rains also forced stoppage of Legends League Cricket (LLC 2024). First international match being hosted in Kashmir after 3-decades.

   

Quoting an official, news agency NVI reported that Phase II of Gulmarg saw accumulation of snow between 2-3 inches and that Razdan Pass of Gurez, also in north Kashmir witnessed a light snowfall too.

It reported that the weather forecast for the next ten days is mostly dry across the region.

“On October 5, a few areas may experience showers in the late afternoon or evening, but overall, dry weather is expected,” said an independent weather forecaster.

“October 7 and 8 are anticipated to remain mostly dry, with a slight chance of brief showers in some spots,” he said, adding that from October 9 to 10, mostly dry conditions will prevail, although a 50% chance of short rain spells exists in certain areas.

“From October 11 to 14, the forecast suggests continued dry weather,” he added.
