Shastri also praised local fast-bowling sensation Umran Malik, who has made a name for himself on the national stage with his raw pace. While applauding his talent, Shastri advised Malik to remain dedicated amidst the fierce competition in Indian cricket. “Umran has the talent, but he will need to stay dedicated and keep working hard. The competition is fierce, but he can achieve great success with determination,” he said.

The Legends League Cricket event, which has brought former international stars to Jammu and Kashmir, is seen as a significant opportunity for local players to gain exposure and learn from seasoned professionals. Shastri stressed the importance of such tournaments for nurturing talent and boosting the confidence of young cricketers in the region.

“Watching big players was always a thrill for us as youngsters. These tournaments allow local talent to dream big and aim for greater heights,” Shastri concluded, underscoring the crucial role of these platforms in shaping the future of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.
