After two entire days' play was called off due to rain, India came out firing on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park in Kanpur. At Stumps on the fourth day, the Tigers trailed by 26 runs with eight wickets in their second innings. With a day left, the match is poised for a draw, but India still have hopes of pulling off an unlikely victory.

Mominul Haque was the star of the show for Bangladesh after he scored 107 runs in the first innings. But he didn’t get much support as the Tigers were bowled out for 233. Thereafter, India declared their innings at 285 for nine in 34.4 overs after their batters went berserk.

IND vs BAN, 2nd Test Day 4 Highlights

Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up four wickets apiece. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul scored half-centuries for India. Rohit Sharma also showed intent with a 23-run knock at the top of the order. Virat Kohli impressed with a brisk 47-run knock off 35 balls.

3 – India made the record for the fastest team 50 in Test cricket. India were at 51/0 in 3 overs. They broke England’s record of 4.2 overs in the Nottingham Test against West Indies earlier this year.

10.1 – India made the record for the fastest team 100 in Test cricket. India were at 103/1 in 10.1 overs. The broke their own record of 12.2 overs made in the Trinidad Test against West Indies in 2023.

18.2 – India made the record for the fastest team 150 in Test cricket. India were at 155/3 in 18.2 overs. They broke their own of 21.1 overs made in the Trinidad Test against West Indies in 2023.

24.2 – India made the record for the fastest team 200 in Test cricket. India were at 201/4 in 24.2 overs. They broke Australia’s record of 28.1 overs made in the 2017 Test against Pakistan in Sydney.

30.1 – India made the record for the fastest team 250 in Test cricket. They were at 250/5 in 30.1 overs. They broke England’s record of 34 overs in the Rawalpindi Test against Pakistan in 2022.

4 – Virat Kohli became the fourth batter to reach 27000 international runs. The others are Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara.

594 – Virat Kohli became the fastest to reach the landmark of 27000 runs in international cricket. He broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar, who got there in 623 innings.

4 – Rohit Sharma became only the fourth batter to hit sixes off their first two balls (off Khaled Ahmed) in a men's Test innings. The others are Foffie Williams (off Jim Laker) in 1948, Sachin Tendulkar (off Nathan Lyon) in 2013 and Umesh Yadav (off George Linde) in 2019.

4 – Mehidy Hasan Miraz became the fourth Bangladeshi bowler to reach the landmark of 300 wickets in international cricket. The others are Shakib Al Hasan (712), Mashrafe Mortaza (389) and Mustafizur Rahman (323).

6 – Mominul Haque Showrabh became the sixth Bangladeshi batter to score a Test hundred against India. Mushfiqur Rahim has two centuries to his name while Aminul Islam Bulbul, Mohammad Ashraful, Tamim Iqbal and Zakir Hasan have one century apiece.

7 – Ravindra Jadeja became the seventh Indian bowler to pick up 300 wickets in Test cricket. The others are Anil Kumble (619), Ravi Ashwin (524), Kapil Dev (434), Harbhajan Singh (417), Ishant Sharma (311) and Zaheer Khan (311).

96 – India made the record for most sixes by a Test team in a calendar year. They broke England’s record of 89 back in 2022.
