Virat Kohli, born and raised in a middle-class family in West Delhi, came from humble beginnings. His father, Prem Nath Kohli, was a criminal lawyer, and his mother, Saroj Kohli, supported him through his cricketing journey. Tragedy struck in December 2006 when his father passed away following a cerebral attack. Despite this personal loss, Kohli continued to pursue his dreams with determination, leading the Indian U19 team to victory in the 2008 ODI U19 World Cup just two years later.

Kohli made his senior debut for India in 2008 and has since become one of cricket's modern greats. As the fourth-highest run-scorer in international cricket, he has amassed over 27,000 runs, including 80 centuries across all formats. His accomplishments include a rare trio of ICC trophies: the ODI World Cup (2011), the Champions Trophy (2013), and the T20 World Cup (2024).
As captain, Kohli guided India to 95 wins in 131 matches across all formats, establishing himself as India's most successful Test captain with 40 wins in 68 games.
Kohli, in an interaction with Sunil Chetri, revealed that he was thrashed by his sister Bhawna once.
"(My sister has beaten me a lot. I used to address her casually by saying 'tu, it was a habit of mine, I used to talk to everyone with t?. I don't know what happened to my sister one day, she got angry and she thrashed me so badly that, I stopped saying 'tu and started saying 'aap')."
Kohli met his family during his brief stay in Delhi after team India returned from Barbados after T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.
