Zaheer Khan picks Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami in 'fab four' of fast bowlers

Zaheer Khan picked Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami in his list of 'fab four' for fast bowlers. He also picked Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood among current crop of bowlers.

Former India pacer Zaheer Khan named Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami as his top picks while choosing the top pacers in the bowling category of the 'fab four'. He noted that both Bumrah and Shami played a big role in the Indian team's success in Test cricket over the years. Zaheer picked his top 4–5 pacers who have made in impact among the current slot of bowlers. The former pacer named the likes of Kagiso Rabada from South Africa, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood from Australia.

"India have been performing exceptionally well and have been part of two World Test Championship finals. India have done well consistently in all conditions. So, I would surely pick Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami in my Fab Four. Apart from them, it would be Kagiso Rabada and Josh Hazlewood. Pat Cummins is also one of the contenders. These are the four or five bowlers who have made an impact in Test cricket consistently," Zaheer Khan told Cricbuzz.

The Shami-Bumrah combo

Bumrah and Shami have played an important role for the Indian team across the formats. Bumrah is currently part of India's playing XI in the 2nd Test vs Bangladesh in Kanpur. Meanwhile, Shami is recovering from ankle surgery. The two Indian pacers would be crucial for India's upcoming tour to Australia for the much-anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy series.

Zaheer also recalled Gautam Gambhir's playing days for India and compared it to his current style of coaching. Gambhir's former India teammate found similarities in the coaching and playing style and highlighted his hunger to win games.
