Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra hailed Rishabh Pant's batting ability in red ball format. Speaking about Pant on September 21, Saturday, after the wicketkeeper-batter scored a century on his Test comeback, Chopra said that he thought Pant would always become a star in the T20 format of the game. However, Chopra reflected that Pant has actually been performing best in Test cricket, kind of like Virender Sehwag.

Rishabh Pant broke out from Delhi and DC as one of the most exciting prospects in Indian cricket. The wicketkeeper-batter, at a very young age, etched his name in history after guiding India to a historic Gabba win against Australia Down Under.

Chopra said that Pant's story was similar to Sehwag - who became one of the greatest Indian Test batters of all time and achieved batting feats that other Indians are yet to reach.

"He reminds you of Virender Sehwag. When you watched him play, you felt he would be the T20 king but he shone the most in Tests. Rishabh Pant's story is also similar thus far. It seems with the way he plays, he would be destroying the most in T20s, but he doesn't allow you to bowl here (in Tests)," Aakash Chopra said in Colours Cineplex.

Speaking about Rishabh Pant's comeback in Tests, Chopra said that comebacks were always difficult but Pant made it look ridiculously easy on Saturday.

"Comebacks are always more difficult than debuts because you have already seen a lot, in and out, ups and downs, everything has happened with you. People also judge you a little quickly when you are making a comeback. Here the comeback was also due to some other reason," Chopra said about Pant's comeback.

On Saturday, Pant and Shubman Gill added 167 runs for India. Both players scored respective hundreds and handed Bangladesh a massive target of 515 runs. At the close of Day 3, Bangladesh still needed 357 to win with 5 wickets in hand.
