A Bangladesh cricket fan was rushed to the hospital from Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Friday, September 27. The fan, known as 'Tiger Robi' for his trademark tiger body paint, was seen being carried off the stands by security officials on Day 1 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh.

According to police sources, Tiger Robi's health deteriorated on Friday morning, leading to his admission to a hospital due to dehydration. The super fan reportedly alleged he was beaten by some locals at the venue, but police denied the claims. He has been travelling with the Bangladesh cricket team during their tour of India and also attended the Test in Chennai. Earlier in the day, he was passionately waving the Bangladesh flag during the morning session before experiencing a health setback.

Kanpur Test, Day 1 Updates

It was a hard-fought affair on the field on a rain-interrupted opening day. Bangladesh were 107 for 3 in 35 overs when rain halted proceedings in the second session. Former captain Mominul Haque was leading Bangladesh's fight with the bat, hitting an unbeaten 40 off 81 balls. Senior batter Mushfiqur Rahim was unbeaten on 6.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh were off to a decent start after they were sent into bat on a pitch that had a bit of a green tinge. In overcast conditions, Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj troubled the openers with the new ball before third seamer Akash Deep broke the opening stand. Akash dismissed Zakir Hasan for 0 after a sensational catch at gully by Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Akash Deep struck in quick succession, removing Shadman Islam after a fine review that led to an overturned LBW decision.

India burnt two reviews in the first two sessions on Day 1, but R Ashwin ended a 51-run stand for the third wicket, dismissing captain Najmul Hossain Shanto. Najmul was looking to settle into a rhythm, but he was undone by Ashwin's guile after Lunch.

Bangladesh will be hoping to post a challenging total on the board as they look to avoid a series whitewash in India. After having beaten Pakistan in Pakistan earlier this month, Bangladesh headed to India with a lot of confidence. However, they were hammered by 281 runs in the first Test in Chennai.
