Jasprit Bumrah has reiterated his love for Test cricket, claiming that it is his favourite format. Bumrah is one of India's players who is a regular in all formats of the game. The Indian pacer, after putting behind his injury concerns over the past few years, has been playing all three formats.

However, Tests have been one where Bumrah has truly shown his magic. The Indian pacer is the 4th highest wicket-taker in the format with 33 scalps to his name from 7 matches at an average of 15.27. The ongoing series against Bangladesh has seen the pacer pick up 6 wickets so far. Speaking to the broadcasters ahead of Day 4 of the Kanpur Test, Bumrah said that he has always wanted to play Tests and was happy to get some overs under his belt.

Bumrah also said that he expects to bowl more overs during the Australia tour, which will begin in November.

"For me, my favourite format is the Test format. I've said it before as well that I wanted to play this format and I'm doing that now. Good to get some overs under the belt and build up those overs. Number of overs we bowl in Australia will be a lot more," said Bumrah.

The Kanpur game has seen Day 2 and Day 3 get washed out due to rain and Bumrah said that they would need to quickly adjust and use their experience well.

"Weather is something you're not in control of. Have to quickly adjust, use your experience. You start communicating with the others as well about the pitch and the lines and lengths," said Bumrah.

Bumrah would provide India with the early breakthrough on Day 4 on Monday, Septmeber 30, as he cleaned up Musfiqur Rahim with an absolute beauty.

India will depend on Bumrah to help them secure the win as the race to the World Test Championship final heats up.
