Star Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson opened up on his emotional celebration with captain Suryakumar Yadav after hitting his maiden T20I hundred in the third T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. Suryakumar and Samson also registered the second-highest second-wicket partnership for India during the 3rd T20I vs Bangladesh in Hyderabad. The pair joined forces at 23 for one after the wicket of Abhishek Sharma and put together 173 runs.

Samson's blistering century, off just 40 balls, showcased impeccable timing, precision, and power, thrilling the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium crowd. The Indian wicketkeeper reached the milestone with a boundary in the 13th over, pausing briefly in an emotional celebration to take in the significance of his achievement.

With a smile finally breaking across his face, he embraced Suryakumar, who was quick to offer his support. Samson then removed his helmet, acknowledging the roaring applause from the crowd as his teammates in the Indian dressing room rose to their feet, giving him a standing ovation. Samson, in a post-match interview with captain Suryakumar, reflected on his emotional reaction after reaching the milestone, sharing insight into his mindset during the special innings.

"Basically, very happy, out of words, very emotional, very grateful to God that it has happened. Everyone has his own time," Samson said in a video shared by the BCCI. He acknowledged the journey to the century was long and challenging, but faith and perseverance helped him reach the moment. "I just kept on doing my work, kept on believing in myself, and happy that you were there with me to celebrate that hundred," Samson added, addressing Suryakumar, who was at the non-striker's end during the achievement.

Suryakumar, who has been instrumental in leading the team with a positive attitude, praised Samson's composure and approach to reaching the landmark. "I enjoyed it from the other end. One of the best hundreds I have ever seen," said the skipper. Curious about Samson's decision-making, Suryakumar asked, "You were on 96 or 97 and going down the straight, over the top, taking that risk-what was running in your mind?"

In response, Samson revealed how the team environment and the guidance from the coaching staff helped shape his aggressive play. "The team atmosphere and the environment which we have created in these many weeks... The message is, go be aggressive and humble. These are the two words that our captain and coach keep reminding us. So, I think that suits my nature, my character, so I just kept on going for it," Samson explained.

Samson's century was the highlight of India's commanding 133-run victory, which sealed a 3-0 series sweep over Bangladesh. India posted a formidable total of 297 for 6 after electing to bat, and Bangladesh could only muster 164/7 in response, never offering a real challenge.
