  • Yashasvi Jaiswal pulls off a stunning one-handed catch
  • His catch dismisses Bangladesh's Zakir Hasan off Jasprit Bumrah's delivery
  • Zakir Hasan departs after scoring 33 runs in 4th innings vs India

Yashasvi Jaiswal pulled off a sensational catch in the 4th innings of Bangladesh's chase of 414 runs. The day 3 of the 1st Test between India and Bangladesh witnessed Jaiswal picking up a one-handed blinder catch of Bangladesh opener Zakir Hasan. It was a spectacular effort from the 22-year-old at gully as he dived towards his left and grabbed a low one-handed stunner behind his body. The 2nd delivery of the 17th over saw Jasprit Bumrah bowling an outside off delivery, which enticed Zakir Hasan into the drive but he couldn't keep it down and played a loose shot away from the body. Jaiswal, with his sensational fielding effort, made full use of the error of judgement from Zakir and plucked a stunner.

India's ever-so reliant Jasprit Bumrah provided the team their first-ever breakthrough yet again. He broke the defiant opening stand of 62 runs between Bangladesh batters Zakir and Shadman Islam. The dismissal was building up with three testing overs post the tea break from Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin. Before tea, Bangladesh had a great phase of play with Zakir and Shadman seeing off the new ball and aimed to dominate the Indian bowlers, especially Mohammed Siraj. The pitch seemed to have eased out a bit and the Bangladesh openers made the most of it.

Next it was Shubman Gill with a brilliant low catch at short mid-wicket to dismiss Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam. In the 22nd over, Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a length ball and Shadman tried to flick it away and got a leading edge. Gill dived forward to snaffle it with both hands. India's fielding was brilliant on a pitch which didn't have a lot to the bowlers. Both the young batters contributed both with the bat and on the field as well. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his 5th Test fifty in the 1st innings with 56 runs from 118 balls. Shubman Gill notched up his fifth Test hundred in India's second innings.
