Team India's bowling coach Morne Morkel hailed Ravindra Jadeja as a complete package and called him someone who can 'create magic' on the field. Ravindra Jadeja reached his 300th Test wicket milestone during the Day 4 of the 2nd Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur on Monday, September 30. "For me, he's a complete package," Morkel said. "He bats, he bowls, he's a guy in the field that can make magic happen. Always a guy that you want in your team, and he's done that for so many years for India," Morkel told the media during the end of Day 4 press conference. "It's quite special to be in this environment. Excited to see how they operate. I come to serve these players, share knowledge, share experience."

300 wickets in Tests for Jadeja

Jadeja completes big milestone

Jadeja is now the fastest Asian and the second-fastest player overall to reach this elite double, achieving the milestone in 74 Test matches. He stands just behind England legend Ian Botham, who did it in 72 matches. The all-rounder also became the seventh Indian bowler to claim 300 Test wickets, joining a list of illustrious names in Indian cricket history.

Jadeja is now one of 11 cricketers worldwide to have completed the rare double of 3000-plus runs and 300-plus wickets in Tests. His bowling average of 24.00 is the second-best among Indian bowlers with 200 or more Test wickets, narrowly behind Ashwin's 23.69. Among spinners with over 200 Test wickets, only Muthiah Muralidaran (22.72) and Ashwin have better averages than Jadeja.

This milestone further establishes Jadeja's status as one of India's finest all-rounders, alongside legends like Kapil Dev and Ashwin. His consistent performances with both bat and ball have made him an invaluable asset to the Indian Test team, and his achievement in Kanpur adds another feather to his illustrious career.
