India announced a strong 15-member squad for the Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Oman from October 18 to 27. As many as eight teams, including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, are part of the tournament along with hosts Oman.

Mumbai Indians star Tilak Varma has been named as the captain for the India A side in the Emerging Asia Cup T20. Opener Abhishek Sharma, who struggled to get going in the T20I series against Bangladesh, will be part of the India A side at the Emerging Asia Cup tournament for the second successive year. Abhishek was part of the side, led by Yash Dhull, that lost to Pakistan in the final last year.

Lucknow Super Giant batter Ayush Badoni, Chennai Super Kings star Nishant Sindhu and Mumbai Indians' big-hitters Nehal Wadhera and Ramandeep Singh are part of the squad.

The bowling attack will be led by senior pacer Vaibhav Arora. Young Rasikh Salam will also be part of the side which has high-quality spin bowlers in Rahul Chahar and R Sai Kishore.

Tilak Varma (captain), Abhishek Sharma, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Ramandeep Singh, Anuj Rawat, Prabh Simran Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Anshul Kamboj, Hrithik Shokeen, Aaqib Khan, Vaibhav Arora, Rasikh Salam, Sai Kishore, Rahul Chahar.

The upcoming edition of the Emerging Asia Cup will be its sixth edition. The tournament is an initiative by Asian Cricket Council to provide a platform for young cricketers to compete at the highest levels and face the pressure of international cricket.

India won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2013, beating Pakistan in the final. India made it to the final in 2018 and 2023. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the most successful sides in the Emerging Asia Cup with two titles each.
