India rewrite record books after 297 in Hyderabad T20I vs Bangladesh: Top stats

India went on an absolute rampage in their third T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday, October 12 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After being asked to bat first, the home team racked up a colossal score of 297 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Barring Abhishek Sharma, the Indian batters had a dream on an excellent pitch to bat on.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib dismissed Abhishek, but Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav went absolutely berserk. The duo put on a partnership of 173 runs for the second wicket off 11.3 overs. Samson smashed 111 runs off 47 balls with the help of 11 fours and eight sixes.

Suryakumar missed out on scoring a hundred, but his knock of 75 off 35 balls with eight fours and five sixes gave India the much-needed momentum. Hardik Pandya’s cameo of 47 off 18 balls injected momentum into the innings. Riyan Parag also played a handy 34-run innings.

297 – India recorded the second-highest score in the history of T20Is. Nepal’s 314 against Mongolia in the Asian Games 2023 remains the highest.

297 – India also broke the record of their top team total in T20Is. Their previous highest was 260 for five against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017.

2 – Sanju Samson hit the second-fastest hundred by an Indian in T20Is. Rohit Sharma holds the record off 35 balls against Sri Lanka back in 2017.

22 – Sanju Samson hit the fastest fifty by an Indian batter against Bangladesh off 22 balls. Rohit Sharma held the record off 23 balls in Rajkot in 2019.

82 – India made their highest powerplay score of 82 for one. They broke the record of 82 for two against Scotland back in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

7.1 – India notched their fastest team 100 in T20Is off 7.1 overs. They broke the record of eight overs back in 2019 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

152 – India racked up the second-highest T20I score of 152 for one after the first 10 overs. Australia’s 156 for three against Scotland in Edinburgh earlier this year remains the highest.

173 – Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav put on the third-highest partnership for India in T20Is. Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh’s 190* against Afghanistan in 2024 remains the highest. Deepak Hooda and Samson’s 176-run stand against Ireland in 2022 is second on the list.

71 – Suryakumar Yadav became the second fastest Indian to the landmark of 2500 runs in T20Is. Virat Kohli is the fastest batter, having got there in 68 innings.

3 – Sanju Samson recorded the third-highest individual score against Bangladesh in T20Is. Brendon McCullum’s 123 in 2012 stays the highest. Pakistan’s Ahmed Shehzad scored an unbeaten 111 back in 2014.

14 – India recorded the second-fastest 200 by a team in T20Is. They broke South Africa’s record in 13.5 overs against the West Indies back in 2023 in Centurion.

22 – India broke their record of most sixes in a T20I innings. Back in the 2017 Indore T20I, they hit 21 sixes against Sri Lanka.
