One of Aston Villa’s out-on-loan stars is set to miss his side’s Europa League clash tonight at Real Sociedad due to illness.

The Villans had an eventful summer transfer window where they saw a host of players coming in and going out of Villa Park.

The likes of Alex Moreno, Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior and Leander Dendocker were loaned out to different clubs around Europe.

Belgian defensive midfielder Dendoncker is on loan at Anderlecht for the rest of the season.

He has started five matches for the Belgian outfit this season so far but he is set to miss out on Anderlecht’s trip to Spain tonight.

According to Belgian daily DH, the Aston Villa loanee is ill and will not be featuring against La Liga outfit Real Sociedad in the Europa League this evening.

Jan Vertonghen’s injury gave Dendoncker the opportunity to show his leadership skills as he captained the side in their last four matches.

He will be looking to recover from his illness on Sunday when Anderlecht face Standard in the league.

The Aston Villa loanee will need to perform on a consistent basis to have clarity on his future by the end of this loan stint.
