Video: CM Punk survives brutal suplex through table to win bloody match in WWE

by · MMA FIGHTING

CM Punk continues to prove why professional wrestling was always his best profession.

The two-time UFC veteran, who returned to WWE this past year after a 10-year exodus from the promotion, engaged in a brutal, bloody match on Saturday that included him getting suplexed through a table on the outside of the ring.

The Hell in a Cell match — a cage that surrounds the ring with a roof on the top — saw Punk finish his long-running feud with Drew McIntyre after going back and forth for the past several months. While WWE tries to avoid much bloodshed these days, both Punk and McIntyre were covered by the end of this match.

The wild affair saw both performers engage in some wild physical feats while pummeling each other with steel stairs, wrenches and even a tool box at one point.

The end of the match came after Punk wrapped a chain around his knee and hit his finishing move dubbed the GTS (go to sleep) to end the match.

Afterwards, Punk stumbled his way out of the ring with medical personnel rushing out to check on both performers after the grueling match.

Punk’s return to WWE was paused after he got injured in a match back in January but even during his recovery, he continued to appear on television and actually set up his feud with McIntyre before he was cleared to return.

While fighting didn’t work out too well for him, Punk continues to find success in the wrestling ring even as he approaches his 46th birthday in October.
