Dublin Marathon 2024: Colin Farrell clocks impressive time while raising €700,000 for charity

Hollywood star Colin Farrell clocked an impressive time as he completed the Dublin City Marathon on Sunday morning.

Farrell ran the last leg of the run with close friend Emma Fogarty, and the pair teamed up to raise €700,000 for charity.

The Dubliner is a keen runner and pushed Emma the final four kilometers of the race as they raised funds and awareness for epidermolysis bullosa.

Emma has been living with EB for her entire life. It is an incurable genetic condition that affects the skin. Donations to Colin and Emma will go directly towards funding vital research and services for those living with EB.

Starting off the day in Wave 1, Farrell clocked his first 10k in 59 minutes and 21 seconds. The In Bruges star sped up for the next 10k of the race and passed the halfway mark at Two Hours, two minutes, and 53 seconds and crossed the 30k mark in two hours, 53 minutes, and 57 seconds. Colin eventually crossed the line in a time of four hours, six minutes and 45 seconds.

Kenyan athlete Moses Kemei won the marathon in a time of Two hours, eight minutes, and 47 seconds, while Hiko Tonosa broke the national record with a time of two hours, nine minutes, and 42 seconds.

Ethiopia's Asmirach Nega was first woman home in a time of two hours, 23 minutes and 13 seconds with fellow Ethiopian runners Serome Negash, Grete Dukale, and Genet Abdurkadir in second, third, and fourth place.

Anne-Marie McGlynn of Letterkenny Athletic Club was the first Irish woman home in a time of two hours, 34 minutes, and five seconds.
