Libya Head Coach Reveals Why His Team Is Not Ready For Super Eagles

The head coach of the Libya national football team, Nasser Al-Hadiri, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s preparation for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria.

The Libya national team, known as the Mediterranean Knights, is facing challenges as several key players are unavailable due to injuries and suspensions. Additionally, reports indicate that some top players have decided to boycott the home and away matches.

Al-Hadiri has openly acknowledged that the absence of these key players has made it challenging for him to establish a comprehensive tactical plan for the qualifiers.

Speaking at a press conference, the Libya head coach admitted that the team has not yet reached the required level of readiness to face a strong team like Nigeria. He also mentioned that the team was not in good shape before he took over as head coach.

“We have not yet reached the required level of readiness to face a strong team like Nigeria,” the coach said.

“The team were not in good shape before I took over.

“The absence of several players in our first training sessions has made it difficult to establish a comprehensive tactical plan for the game.”

Libya are slated to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 11. Following this, they will host the three-time African champions in Benina four days later.
