In a swift operation, the Anambra State Police Command has successfully rescued six sports journalists who were abducted by suspected criminals in the Isseke community, located within Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

On Thursday, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the successful rescue of six journalists by a joint security task force, which launched an immediate response following the abduction.

According to SP Ikenga, efforts are currently underway to locate and secure the seventh journalist, who remains unaccounted for.

In an official statement, SP Ikenga expressed confidence in ongoing operations, assuring the public that the authorities are fully committed to securing the remaining journalist and bringing the perpetrators of this crime to justice.

Joint security forces have rescued six members of the media crew who were abducted while travelling from Lagos to Uyo,” Ikenga said.
