Exeter City Women’s Walking Football team have won their first official competitive league — the Gloucester FA League — in impressive fashion.

In their debut season, Exeter City fielded two teams. The 1st team finished at the top of the table.

Despite some challenging moments in the final fixtures, including a few hard-fought draws and a strong push from rivals Melksham, Exeter City’s 1st team managed to hold their ground.

With both teams tied on points by the end of the league, it was City’s impressive goal difference — five goals ahead — that ultimately secured their victory.

Meanwhile, Exeter City’s 2nd team also had a successful run, making it a double victory for Exeter.

Looking ahead, Exeter City’s focus now turns to the new Devon FA League, with plans already in motion to compete next year and build on their success.

"We can’t wait to return next year and compete again," said Gillian, the team’s manager. "It’s been a tremendous first season, and we’re proud of both teams."
