The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an unchanged squad for the Indian team for the second Test against Bangladesh, scheduled to start on Friday, September 27 at Green Park in Kanpur. The entire squad has been retained from the first Test which the hosts won by 280 runs with Rohit Sharma leading the side and Jasprit Bumrah too staying for the series decider.

There was an expectation that Bumrah might be rested and hence excluded from the squad for the second Test. It could still happen but India have decided not to make any changes to the winning combination. The batting unit is likely to remain the same even though the top order faltered in both innings.

The pace-bowling unit will see a change with Yash Dayal likely to make his debut with one of Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj or Akash Deep being rested considering it is a long Test season ahead with nine matches still to go, including five in Australia.

It was a good outing for several players including the likes of Rishabh Pant, who was returning to Test cricket after almost two years and slammed his six Test hundred, Shubman Gill, who recorded a duck in the first innings and then came back to score a century himself and Akash Deep, who was coming off a fifer in Duleep Trophy, impressed with the inward movement he got into the left-handers.

India are expected to win the series 2-0 as even though Bangladesh did put up a fight, with the ball in the first innings and with the bat in the fourth, they will have to play out of their skins to beat this Indian side at home.

India's squad for the second Test against Bangladesh: Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dhruv Jurel (wk), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal
