“I’m done with it now” – Player wants to forget summer Leeds United exit drama

Kristoffer Klaesson was released by Leeds United in the summer. This allowed Polish side Raków Częstochowa to sign him on a free transfer on July 7th.

The goalkeeper left the Polish club on August 26th, without making an appearance for them. A day later, he expressed his disappointment and insisted he wanted a new club quickly.

Earlier this week, the former Leeds man joined Danish side AGF on a one-year deal. He’s been speaking to the Danish press and his comments are relayed by Campo.dk.

Raków Częstochowa had accused the 23-year-old of being overweight and had reportedly asked him to lose weight. He was also spotted in a McDonalds, which didn’t go down well with both the Polish club and their supporters.

The Norwegian was at Raków Częstochowa for just over a month and he’s now eager to put this drama behind him.

“We agreed on the decision. And besides that, I can’t say more about my time there. I’m done with it now. I only look forward to the future and my time here, where I want to do as well as possible,” he said.

The stopper hasn’t directly addressed on the overweight claims made in Poland. However, the ex-Leeds player has revealed he worked on his fitness in his country, after cutting ties with Raków Częstochowa.

“I’ve trained with a good team around me in the form of goalkeeping coach, personal trainer, physical trainer and physiotherapist. So, I’ve trained well while I’ve been at home. It’s been different, but it’s been good,” Klaesson explained.
