Portuguese press deny Manchester United agreement for Ruben Amorim – Sir Dave Brailsford words refuted

by · Sport Witness

After Manchester United’s 5-2 win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup yesterday, Sir Dave Brailsford told fans outside Old Trafford that a deal for Ruben Amorim is ‘done, done, done’.

While he seemed very confident and so do the UK press, there is a completely different stance in Portugal.

This comes from both Record and A Bola, who seem quite insistent that United are yet to reach a full agreement for Amorim. A source has confirmed to each outlet that the Red Devils are yet to pay the Sporting manager’s release clause.

It isn’t known whether the ‘source’ in question is the same for both outlets but they go on to contradict Brailsford’s words quite openly.

A Bola have said yesterday that a deal is ‘close’ and they also believe that Amorim will take his Sporting assistants – Carlos Fernandes and Adelio Candido, to Old Trafford on his arrival at United.

There’s not thought to be any danger danger around the deal, but obviously there’s surprise that some like Brailsford would go public with a claim that everything is agreed.
