Arsebal said to have made €55m offer – More needed from Gunners for deal
by Naveen Ullal · Sport WitnessOn October 22nd, AS in Colombia stated Arsenal and Barcelona have contacted Aston Villa to ask about the conditions needed to sign Jhon Durán in the winter market.
The striker has starred for Aston Villa this season, scoring eight goals from 16 matches in all competitions. The Villans had rejected multiple approaches for him in the summer.
Last month, Aston Villa extended his deal until 2030 but that hasn’t stopped Durán from attracting interest from Arsenal and other clubs.
Colombia’s Antena 2 now provides the latest on the 20-year-old.
It’s claimed several teams have approached the frontman and he’s started receiving offers. Unai Emery’s side aren’t willing to sanction a sale unless their desired price is met. The report uses Arsenal’s attempt as an example.
According to Antena 2, Aston Villa ‘recently said no’ to a €55m bid tabled by Arsenal for the Colombia international.
Transfermarkt currently value the South American at €35m, but the website states Aston Villa are demanding a ‘crazy figure’ of €85m.
