Tottenham man ‘stands out’ as option for club in January – Spurs opening up to transfer idea
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessTottenham defender Radu Dragusin is currently the name that ‘stands out’ for Juventus as they look for a replacement for Gleison Bremer in January.
That’s according to journalist Pierfrancesco Vecchiotti, who says the Tottenham defender’s history at the club makes him an ideal target.
Bremer appears set to miss the majority of the rest of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament tear at the beginning of October.
His absence has left a major hole in Juventus’ defence that the Italian club will be looking to fill if they can in the January transfer window.
The Italian side are believed to be specifically looking at players with a history in Serie A, with PSG’s Milan Skriniar heavily linked.
Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin has also been linked, with his name currently very popular in Italy as he continues to struggle to breakthrough under Ange Postecoglou.
He’s also been linked with a potential move to Napoli, with both sides seemingly keen to take advantage of the fact he’s barely featured for Tottenham since joining in January transfer window.
Vecchiotti admits this is certainly the case for Juventus, as Tottenham may be opening up to the idea of a loan deal.
“At Juventus, the absence of Gleison Bremer is certainly weighing on the table. It is an undeniable fact, as is the fact that Tiago Motta, together with Giuntoli and the club, must find solutions and immediately,” he said.
“First of all, by changing something from a mental and tactical point of view to ensure that Juventus finds a healthy balance between the defensive phase and the offensive phase and then look for something or rather someone on the January market.
“The names studied by Giuntoli are many and among these that of Radu Dragusin stands out. The Romanian defender seems to be the most suitable solution because he already knows the Juventus environment well, having grown up with the next gen, and more generally knows the Italian championship.
“Dragusin, moreover, is finding very little space with Tottenham and this could lead Spurs to think about a loan, a solution this last one very welcome to Juventus.
“The Bianconeri would find themselves with a defender young, strong, ready because he knows the environment and is skilled in marking even in open field situations, a component that should not be underestimated, given the game and tactical system of Tiago Motta, who would thus find himself with an important additional solution, among other things at zero cost.”
