Ché Adams played a key part in helping Southampton secure promotion to the Premier League, scoring 15 goals and registering four assists in the Championship last season.

The striker left the Saints when his deal expired on June 30th and joined Torino on a free transfer.

Southampton wanted to retain the 28-year-old and made efforts to extend his deal. This was confirmed by the club itself, when they put out the list of released players back in June.

The Leicester-born Scotland international wasn’t in favour of accepting Southampton’ renewal offer. He’s been speaking to the Serie A side’s official channel, relayed by Sport Mediaset.

On his decision to join Torino in the summer window, the frontman explained it wasn’t a tough one.

“The choice to come was very simple, I’m convinced that it was the right one. I’m appreciating everything about this new adventure, it was nice to score on my debut against Atalanta in front of our fans,” he said.

The former Southampton man has revealed talks with Torino technical director Davide Vagnati and manager Paolo Vanoli convinced him to join the Turin club.

“I had spoken with Vagnati for several weeks, then also with the coach. I understood that they had the same visions as me. I’m enjoying every moment also with the help of my teammates,” Adams explained.

The frontman has enjoyed a good start at Torino, scoring three goals and registering two assists from seven games.

On his life in new city, he added: “It is very different from Southampton, but I like Turin a lot and there are several attractions to visit. From Piazza San Carlo which is beautiful to Piazza Castello and the Royal Gardens. The food? You really can’t go wrong here…”
