Liverpool ‘actively’ working for signing – Reds biggest club to make move, deal at less than €60m

by · Sport Witness

Earlier this month, we covered claims from Spain that Liverpool have set their sights on Sevilla’s Loïc Badé.

Monday’s edition of AS backs that up and provides the latest on the Reds’ desire to sign the centre-back.

Arne Slot currently has Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah as four centre-backs currently at Liverpool.

The manager has mainly used Van Dijk and the France international in the heart of his side’s defence. The 33-year-old Dutchman has less than a year left on his contract. The Merseyside club are said to be searching for a new defender and have their sights set on Badé.

It’s claimed the ‘latest and the biggest’ club to show serious interest in the 24-year-old is Liverpool. They are ‘actively looking’ to sign a defender.

Badé isn’t on the same level as Van Dijk, but his displays for the La Liga side have put him in the spotlight.

The 24-year-old didn’t entertain offers from VfB Stuttgart and AS Roma in the summer window. Earlier this month, Sevilla extended his deal until 2029 and increased his clause from €42m to €60m.

Despite this, AS insist Sevilla would be willing to sell the defender for ‘considerably less’. They haven’t mentioned any figures in their report.
