‘Many clubs’ interested in Newcastle United player say entourage – He has very clear transfer view

Bruno Guimarães has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United in the past few windows.

In October, the midfielder signed a new contract until 2028, and it reportedly includes a release clause of over €100m.

The Brazil international is happy with his life in England and is aiming to ‘stay longer’ at Newcastle.

That’s according to Trivela, who explain why the 26-year-old favours staying at the Tyneside club.

Back in August, Guimarães was handed the captain’s armband, when there were rumours linking him to other clubs. He’s led Eddie Howe’s side in every league tie this season and the club’s summer decision has further improved the player’s morale.

At this moment in time, he has no plans to leave Newcastle for a top club. He will consider changing clubs ‘only if Newcastle want’ to sell him.

“He has a lot of respect from his teammates and becoming captain was his dream. There are many clubs interested, but there’s only business if they resolve things with Newcastle first. Bruno will not take a stand [for a way out]. It has to come from the club, wanting to sell,” a source close to Guimarães told Trivela.

Manchester City star Rodri’s serious injury setback has seen the Premier League winners name as the Newcastle star’s suitor in recent days.

Guimarães would only be a starter under Pep Guardiola until Rodri returns from an injury. The South American could then be an option for the Citizens manager, instead of being a key player, like he’s at Newcastle.

In short, Guimarães and his entourage seem to believe he’ll be an emergency option at the Etihad. Therefore, Manchester City may not be the best option for him next.

These are the factors favouring him to continue with Eddie Howe’s side.
