Dale at the double
Sunderland Women clinched a seven-goal thriller against Bristol City in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
The 4-3 victory at Eppleton saw Eleanor Dale give Sunderland the lead just 35 seconds into the game, but goals from Mari Ward and Ffion Morgan meant the visitors led at the break.
Within four minutes in the second half, Dale got her second and Katie Kitching scored two to make it 4-2, and Lexi-Lloyd Smith’s 71st-minute goal wasn’t enough as the Lasses claimed the three points.
