Anadolu Efes got an impressive win in Athens

Things proved to be more than easy for Anadolu Efes against Maccabi Tel Aviv, as the Turkish side beat the Israelis by 23 points (89-66).

In the majestic setting of the open air Panathenaic stadium in front of 35.000 spectators, Efes got a big moral boost with Elijah Bryant being top scorer with 16 points, while Ercan Osmani and Daniel Oturu had 14 points and Rolands Smits added 11 points.

The winning side is still missing Shane Larkin, who didn’t play while Maccabi‘s Wenyen Gabriel was also out after being injured on Friday.

Jaylen Hoard with 14 points was the top scorer of Maccabi with Jordan Loyd and Levi Randolph adding 11 points each.

The game was balanced for one quarter, but Efes got a 35-28 lead after 16 minutes of play and never lost the lead.

Maccabi managed to make it a one-point game (49-48) in the 25′ but this proved to be the cue for an impressive run of Efes which led by 71-53 at the end of the quarter.
