Alperen Sengun is set to become a legend of the Houston Rockets, reportedly agreeing to a five-year contract extension with the franchise, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks. The deal, which should include a player option in the last year, will make him earn $185 million.

In the 2023-24 season, the 22-year-old wasn’t able to drag the Houston Rockets all the way to the NBA Playoffs, but still performed his best individual season numbers-wise. He put up 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game throughout last year’s Regular Season.

The Turkish gem was selected by the Rockets as the No.16 overall pick in the NBA Draft 2021, and at the end of this new deal, he will be 27 years old, cementing his legacy with the Houston Rockets.

Before moving overseas, he had his first two professional seasons with Bandirma, exploding in 2020-21 with Besiktas. Back then, he was named MVP of the Turkish League at only 18 years of age, while also debuting Internationally in the Basketball Champions League.

Aaron Gordon stays in Denver, Jalen Johnson extends with Atlanta

Alperen Sengun wasn’t the only one agreeing on an extension with his current team, as several other contractual moves happened throughout last night’s crucial hours.

Aaron Gordon will continue to play alongside Nikola Jokic in Denver, according to Chris Haynes. The two parties reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year, $133 million max extension with a player option and trade kicker, as he will stay around with the Nuggets until 2028.

The Atlanta Hawks have also reportedly secured Jalen Johnson’s stay around the team in Georgia, as the 22-year-old extended for five years on a $150 million deal after a third breakout season in the NBA. Last year, he put up 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

Jalen Suggs, instead, agreed on a five-year extension with Orlando. He commented on the news himself. “So many deserve so much praise and thanks for their sacrifices and help to make today my reality. This is surreal, I’m so thankful to them and God for his unfailing love. Orlando I was never leaving you, you’re my home. The people in this city are my family for life”, he shared.

Moreover, Jalen Green extended for three years with Houston on a $106 million new deal, while Jaden Hardy is confirmed to stay with Dallas for two more years at a $18 million rookie contract extension. Corey Kispert agreed to extend for four more years at $54 million with Washington.
