Laura Woods apologises for Tyson Fury's X-rated comment about Uysk

by · Mail Online

Tyson Fury was interviewed by TNT Sports during Saturday night's live coverage of the WBA featherweight title fight between Nick Ball and Ronny Rios.

Fury was at the event in Liverpool to watch cousin Walter Fury fight Dale Arrowsmith on the undercard.

After seeing Walter win that fight, Tyson was brought into the TNT Sports studio to preview the main event, which eventually saw Ball stop Rios in round 10.

But Fury was also asked about his next fight. The 36-year-old is currently preparing for his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, who beat him by split decision in May.

That was the first loss of Fury's professional career but he will get the opportunity to avenge it on December 21.

Oleksandr Usyk gives hilarious five-word response to Tyson Fury

Fury sounded confident but he also used some rather colourful language, prompting an on-air apology from TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods.

Asked by Woods if being older and wiser was going to alter his style, Fury replied: 'I've always been a bad man my whole life and I'm still one today at nearly 40 years old. Few years off 40, but still, I like to say that, it sounds more.

'However, I'm going to go in there with destroy mode. Last time I went to box him and I was being cautious. I was boxing the head right off him, let's talk facts. Anyone can get caught as we've seen in a lot of these heavyweight fights. But this time I'm not going for a points decision. I'm going to knock a motherf***er out. I'm not even sure if you can say that on TNT.'

Boxing pundit Steve Bunce replied: 'I think you've said it!'

Woods then jumped in to add: 'It might be past the watershed, but I probably do have to apologise for a couple of people watching if you're offended by that. It is Tyson Fury though, so you might get a bit of that anyway.'

Fury also offered an apology of sorts.

'I'll apologise for my behaviour,' he began, before adding: 'If you don't like it, change the channel!'
