Jharkhand men's Para Throw Ball team becomes national champion

After the women's team, Jharkhand men's team won the trophy by defeating Rajasthan 3-1 in the BCCL Cup Para Throw Ball National Competition organized by Para Olympic Association of Jharkhand at Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium Khelgaon under the aegis of Para Throw Ball Federation of India, while Haryana had to be satisfied with the third place. In a close contest, Jharkhand defeated Rajasthan 15-13, 15-12, 11-15 and 15-10.

In the women's category, Jharkhand women's team defeated Rajasthan 2-0 and won the trophy. The winners were given individual medals and cash incentives along with the cup.

In the competition, Nirmala Rawat, Director Para Throw Ball Federation of India, Federation President Dr. Albert Prem Kumar, Sudha Lilha, Ramesh Singh, Nisha Mehta, Manjeet Singh, Kamal Kumar Agarwal gave gold, silver and bronze medals to the players.

Jharkhand team coach Mukesh Kanchan said that this is a matter of pride for Jharkhand. The state team achieved this position by preparing in adverse circumstances. He said that if support and opportunity are provided, the players of the state are capable of performing better at the international level. On this occasion, the state captain Sanoj Mahato said that this victory is a victory over disability.

The President of the organization Rahul Mehta thanked BCCL, CCL, CMPD, NTPC, Jharkhand Government, Mukti Sansthan, Bhushan Dental Clinic, Women Helpline Society, Disabled Sports and Jan Utthan Samiti, Darad, Deepshikha, Young India, NBJK, Leeds, Asha, Khelgaon Sports Authority etc. for their cooperation in organizing the competition successfully.

Sarita Sinha, Amrapali, Neha, Peter Tirkey, Munna Prasad, and students of Deepshikha had a special contribution in organizing the competition.
