The National Gallery confirmed the three activists had been arrested and the paintings remain unharmed.

The charges come as soup was thrown over two famous pieces of artwork by Vincent Van Gogh.

The National Gallery reported that while the protesters caused approximately $13,420 in damage to the frame, the painting itself remained unharmed, protected by a screen.
