A 17-year-old has been taken into custody for allegedly ramming an SUV into a pedestrian in Greater Noida and killing her on the spot.

The incident took place near CRC Society in Greater Noida on Thursday and was captured on CCTV. The victim was identified as Shilpi, 27, from Jatpura village in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi and was currently living in Bisrakh in Greater Noida.

A woman was killed after she was hit by a speeding SUV, driven by a teenager, in Bisrakh in Greater Noida West on Wednesday. CCTV footage from the region shows the car hitting the woman, who was walking on the roadside. The woman died on the spot and the driver fled the spot. A case has been registered and the teen, 17, who had fled from the spot, has been arrested, police said.
