Unprecedented rainfall in southeast Morocco has caused flooding in the Sahara Desert for the first time in 50 years.

Sand dunes, typically barren and desolate, are now submerged beneath sheets of water. What were once parched plains are now lush green expanses. Experts attribute the unusual rainfall to a combination of factors, including climate change-induced shifts in weather patterns and the rare convergence of atmospheric conditions.
