The encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua entered its second day on Sunday. The encounter started in Kathua's Mandli on September 28 after police received information regarding the presence of terrorists and the contact was established subsequently.

The contact was established between the security forces and the terrorists at around 5:30 PM during a search operation initiated after a tip-off. A head constable of the J-K Police fell in the line of duty during the encounter while two other officials were injured.

A Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable was killed and an assistant sub-inspector was injured Saturday evening during an encounter between security forces and terrorists in a remote village in Kathua district, officials said.

Earlier on Saturday, one police personnel was killed while two other security personnel sustained bullet injuries during an encounter with terrorists in village Kog (Mandli), in the Kathua district of Jammu division
