Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi attended the Hindi Month valedictory function and the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Chennai Doordarshan where the omission of the Dravidian reference sparked outrage.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin called the ommission of 'Dravida' during singing of the state song an insult to Tamil language. He also alleged that Governor RN Ravi suffered from "Dravidian allergy".

Doordarshan issued an apology attributing the error to a mistake by the performers. Yet, the incident took a political turn when Stalin accused Ravi of allowing the omission to go unchallenged.
