Tension between India and Canada have been on the boil ever since their diplomatic showdown. MEA in a briefing on Friday stated that consular services have faced a setback due to security concerns.

The announcement by the Consulate comes merely days after violence disruption was orchestrated by anti-India extremists was seen when the Indian consulate had co-organised a consular camp outside the Hindi Sabha Temple in Brampton, near Toronto.

The MEA said that the consulate camp is helpful for the community as it facilitates documentation for the diaspora in matters like continuing pensions and other such activities.
