YSRCP has demanded SC-Monitored probe into the allegations of adulteration of Tirupati laddu saying an Probe by SIT can’t uncover the truth.

On September 22, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced to constitute a SIT to probe adulteration in the ghee. He had also announced a ritualistic sanitisation of the temple which was undertaken on Monday.

According to the temple administration, the controversy over the alleged use of animal fat in the sacred prasad at Tirupati has had no impact on sales.

Naidu said that the government would take action against those involved in using adulterated ghee after the receipt of the report of SIT.

Tirupati Laddu row: Earlier, the government had formed an SIT under the leadership of senior police officer Sarveshwar Tripathi which will investigate this adulteration case.

The SIT, under the leadership of senior police officer Sarveshwar Tripathi, has been formed to investigate the adulteration in the ghee used for making Tirupati prasadam laddus. Meanwhile, the TDP filed a formal complaint in the case on Wednesday.

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan has called upon the people to conduct pujas in temples across the state on the 28th of this month.

Despite nationwide outrage over the adulteration in the Tirupati laddu prasadam, the laddu sales remain unaffected. From September 20, over three lakh laddus were sold every day.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on September 25 (Wednesday) lodged a complaint against the Dindigul-based AR Dairy for supplying adulterated ghee used in the preparation of laddu prasadams at the Tirumla temple.
