Earlier today, Farooq Abdullah had said that the INDIA bloc will seek time from the Raj Bhavan to stake claim for government formation.

During his meeting with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Abdullah presented the letters of support from the coalition partners, hours after Congress extended its support to the NC vice president.

The NC has emerged as the single largest party with 42 seats as results of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls were declared on October 8. The party is comfortably placed to form the government as its alliance with Congress and CPI(M) got 49 seats in the 90-member house.

Omar Abdullah was elected as the leader of the National Conference legislature party after a resounding victory of the party in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections.
