In Florida, a proposal to restore abortion rights is on track to fall short of the 60% support needed in order to pass.

Florida voters rejected adding abortion rights to their state constitution Tuesday, keeping a ban on abortion after the first six weeks of pregnancy in place.

Amendment 4, a Florida ballot measure to protect abortion rights in the state, failed to pass after Gov. Ron DeSantis waged a campaign against it.

Voters in the sunshine state cast their ballots Tuesday against a measure that would have overturned Florida’s ban on abortion after six weeks and allowed the procedure until foetal viability. 

New York voters have approved an amendment to the state’s constitution barring discrimination based on things including “gender identity” and “pregnancy outcomes,” changes supporters say will further protect transgender and abortion rights.
