Twisted Texas Man Murders CoWorker For Taking Long Lunches

· NewsTalk 1290

A 51-year-old man named Travis Merrill was arrested for allegedly murdering his coworker, Tamhara Collazo, at Allegiance Trucks in Lewisville, Texas.

LONG LUNCH BREAKS FORM TERRIFYING OBSESSION

The shooting occurred when Collazo returned from her lunch break. According to police documents, Merrill had become obsessed with Collazo, particularly fixating on what he perceived as her "unauthorized long breaks," and kept detailed records of her break times.

Travis Merrill’s fixation on Tamhara Collazo began to manifest in increasingly alarming ways. His obsession over her lunch breaks, which he meticulously tracked, was only a surface symptom of deeper issues.

The situation escalated when Collazo brought Merrill's behavior to the attention of HR, which ultimately required him to seek counseling. Unfortunately, that intervention wasn’t enough to prevent the tragedy that would unfold.

MERRILL'S PLANNED ATTACK

Denton County Jail

Merrill’s admission to police revealed a disturbing picture of premeditation. Not only did he purchase firearms specifically for the crime, but he also brought them to work multiple times before the day of the shooting, as if rehearsing the horrific act he would eventually commit.

He stated he wanted her to "feel pain" because she had avoided him after the HR report.

Merrill's sick and twisted plans finally came to fruition after Collazo came back from lunch on October 17th, “As she re-entered after lunch, he followed her inside to her cubicle and ‘ambushed’ her, firing the gun several times,” an affidavitobtained by FOX 4 Dallas describes.

Allegiance Trucks has closed its Lewisville office indefinitely and is providing support to the victim's family and other employees.
