The BJP after securing a convincing win in the just concluded Haryana state assembly elections is all set to form the next state government on October 17, official sources said.

The oath-taking ceremony will be be held in Panchkula.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior BJP leaders and Chief Ministers of some other BJP-ruled states are expected to attend the ceremony.
It will be held at the Dusshera ground at 1000 hours in Panchkula Sector 5.

However, the BJP is yet to announce their Chief Ministerial candidate, but reports suggest that the BJP is likely to continue with Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced, Manohar Lal Khattar, as the state Chief Minister in March year.

Saini was instrumental in helping the party win the recent assembly elections.

The BJP secured 48 seats, 11 more than the Congress. The Janta Jannayak Party (JJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were decimated and the INLD managed to win just two seats.

The saffron party also defied an anti-incumbency of 10 years, and the exit polls, that had projected a massive win for the opposition Congress.

The key to BJP’s remarkable victory in the state lay in carefully strategized social engineering and tough choices, including removal of 14 sitting MLAs to counter anti-incumbency.

Both its seat share and vote share, 53.3% and 39.9% respectively are the highest ever in any assembly election in the state.

Lok Sabha verdict, sources say, had set alarms bells ringing as the party was also grappling with factionalism and a disenchanted cadre.
