Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) on Friday repeatedly refused to concede that his running mate, Donald Trump, lost the 2020 election when asked to provide a “yes or no” answer about the former president’s defeat.

Speaking with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, a host of New York Times podcast “The Interview,” Vance was asked about his debate with Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) during which the Republican vice presidential candidate refused to say Trump lost — and instead claimed he's "focused on the future."

“That is a damning non-answer,” Walz said of Vance's response.

As the Times reports, "It was widely considered his weakest debate moment and may have turned off voters."

“In the debate you were asked to clarify if you believe Trump lost the 2020 election,” Garcia-Navarro said in her interview with Vance. “Do you believe Trump lost the 2020 election?”

Vance replied that he and Trump have both raised issues about the 2020 election but insisted they’re both “focused on the future.”

“I think there’s an obsession here with focusing on 2020,” Vance claimed. “I’m much more worried about what happened after 2020, which is a wide-open border, groceries that are unaffordable.”

“Senator, yes or no. Did Donald Trump lose the 2020 election?” Garcia-Navarro pressed.

“Let me ask you a question,” Vance shot back. “Is it OK that technology companies censored the Hunter Biden laptop story?”

“Sen. Vance, I’m going to ask you again,” Garcia-Navarro replied. “Did Donald Trump lose the 2020 election?”

“Did Big Technology companies censor a story that independent studies have suggested would have cost Donald Trump millions of votes?” Vance asked.

“Sen. Vance, I’m going to ask you again,” Garcia-Navarro repeated. “Did Donald Trump lose the 2020 election?”

“And I’ve answered your question with another question,” Vance replied. “You answer my question and I’ll answer yours.”
