Breaking - Woman, 18, arrested after Brierley Hill stabbing as second suspect on run

West Midlands Police remains at the scene today on Friday as officers examine CCTV footage and step up patrols

An 18-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in a Black Country town centre. An 18-year-old man was stabbed on High Street in Brierley Hill yesterday evening, Thursday, October 10, leaving him seriously injured.

West Midlands Police said it was searching for a second suspect who was believed to have fled the scene on foot. Officers remained at the scene today, Friday, October 11, as they carried out CCTV enquiries and spoke to witnesses.

The force also stepped up patrols in the area. Officers appealed for information as they continued to investigate the incident.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "A woman has been arrested after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Brierley Hill last night (10 Oct).We were called to High Street at around 6.30pm after the 18-year-old man was stabbed.

"He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. A woman aged 18 has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. We are continuing to search for a second suspect, who is believed to have left the scene on foot.
