The Met Office has warned that Birmingham is in for heavy showers for much of tomorrow, Wednesday October 16, with hours of rainfall expected. After a cold few days, the temperature is set to be slightly warmer, but that will be accompanied by consistent rainfall.

The most up-to-date forecast for Birmingham says the rain will start from 1am on Wednesday morning and last until 4am. After a period of dry weather into the rest of the morning, the wet weather returns at 2pm tomorrow afternoon.

The rain will then continue to fall consistently until 10pm, with heavy showers expected between 6 and 9pm. Forecasters at the Met Office warned that there will be "heavy downpours" at times on Wednesday.

It will feel the warmest it has felt all week however, with regional highs of 18C. The brief dry spells that occur will also provide some relief from the wet and miserable conditions, with sunshine expected in those intervals.

For Wednesday October 16 in Birmingham, the Met Office forecast said: "Showers persist through Wednesday, moving slowly north-eastwards as winds turn light through the morning. Some heavy downpours at times, though some dry interludes as well. Feeling warm in any sunshine. Maximum temperature 18C."

This will lead to more settled conditions on Thursday in Birmingham, with the chance of more sunshine to start before an overcast day on Friday. However dry conditions will be brief, with heavy rains returning to the city by Saturday.
