Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar killed: Letters to the Editor — Oct. 19, 2024

· New York Post

The Issue: Israeli Defense Forces’ killing Hamas leader and Oct. 7 architect Yahya Sinwar.

With Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s death, now is the perfect moment for Israel to offer all Hamas leaders and fighters safe passage out of Gaza in exchange for the return of all hostages (“The dirty rat is dead!” Oct. 18).

A simple deal for the remaining Hamas leaders is to release the hostages and board a ship off the Gaza shoreline.

It worked with Yasser Arafat and the Palestine Liberation Organization in Lebanon, and should happen again immediately.

Upon close examination of the photo of the newly dead Hamas leader, one sees a watch on his left wrist. It appears to be highly expensive. If so, it is a gift indirectly donated by President Biden, via his policy of appeasement towards Tehran.

Biden has allowed Iran to be flooded with billions of dollars in hopes that Tehran might negotiate a treaty with him to slow its nuclear-weapons program.

Meanwhile, Iran drizzles millions on Hamas to sustain its war effort against Israel and some of the dough was picked off by Sinwar to keep his lifestyle current. It was reported that before his death, he fled a bunker, leaving behind nearly a million dollars. The watch is an apt metaphor for our disastrous policy in the Middle East.

Over a decade ago it was Osama bin Laden, then it was Qasem Soleimani. More recently it was Hassan Nasrallah, and now Yahya Sinwar is dead. One by one, many of America’s enemies have been eliminated.

The world is fast becoming a safer place.

A little known fact is that many years ago, Yahyah Sinwar received life-saving health care while he was imprisoned in Israel. That’s right, an Israeli doctor saved Sinwar’s life.

His thanks was inflicting raging hatred and murder on the people who saved him, over the course of many years, culminating in the vicious attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

This is another example of no good deed going unpunished. The Israelis believe in life, and Sinwar and his followers believed in death. This belief finally caught up with him. A good moment for humanity.

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed near the town of Rafah in southern Gaza (“After Sinwar: Win the War,” Editorial, Oct. 18).

You might recall that President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris lobbied Israel to not going into Rafah.

Israel is now eliminating all Iranian proxy leaders. It is high time for the liberals in power to let Israel finish the job and give it all the support it needs.

Although Biden and Harris called for a cease-fire for much of the past year, that would have likely led Hamas to regroup.

It’s not unlike former President Barack Obama essentially allowing the creation of ISIS by leaving a vacuum in Iraq. Then former President Donald Trump oversaw the organization’s decline when he was in office. Peace through strength, not appeasement, prevails.

Bravo to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who accomplished his mission of killing Oct. 7 Hamas leader and mastermind Yahya Sinwar (“Bibi: We got fiend, but war isn’t over,” Oct. 18).

Netanyahu cowers at nothing as he continues to defend and protect his tiny Jewish state. He will not be undermined and told how to fight a war by anyone — not even Joe Biden, who threw him under the bus and threatened to stop delivery of much-needed weapons.

As the world has witnessed, the Israel Defense Forces are focused and determined, and their precision operations are second to none. Not only is this a victory for Israel, this is a “Ding-dong the witch is dead” moment. And in the final analysis, Israel shall succeed.
