Two women arrested over €1.4m gold seizure in Dublin

Two women have been arrested in connection with the seizure of €1.4 million worth of gold in Dublin last weekend.

Gardaí also seized €460,000 in cash and €210,000 in suspected cocaine during searches of residential and business premises on 27-28 September.

The women, aged in their 30s and 50s, were arrested this morning in the Dublin area.

They were arrested under drug trafficking legislation and can be held for up to seven days.

A man in his 50s, arrested yesterday in connection with the seizure, is due in court this morning charged in connection with the seizure.
