· RTE.ie

A Status Orange rain warning has been issued for Co Waterford from midday tomorrow, with Met Éireann warning of heavy rain bringing coastal flooding.

The warning was issued this morning, and is valid for 12 hours from midday tomorrow until midnight.

The forecaster has warned of "very heavy and persistent rain" with highest accumulations in mountainous areas, and dangerous travelling conditions are expected.

It comes after a separate Status Orange rain warning was issued yesterday for counties Cork and Kerry, which is in place from midnight tonight.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow rain warning was also issued for five other counties on Saturday - Clare, Limerick, Galway and Mayo, as well as Waterford.

Rain is expected to become persistent in western counties tonight, turning heavy at times with flooding likely, especially in the southwest

Tomorrow is forecast to be cloudy and wet across the country with rainy spells extending eastwards across the country from morning.
